Terms of Service

Effective date: July 16, 2026

OVERVIEW

This website is operated by David Ciamarro. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to David Ciamarro and erinfo.ca.

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of erinfo.ca, including its emergency department information, surgical wait-time information, articles, reports, tools, charts, maps and other content or services made available through the website.

By accessing or using any part of erinfo.ca, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these Terms of Use, you must not access or use the website.

We may update, change or replace any part of these Terms of Use by posting an updated version on this page. Your continued use of the website after updated Terms of Use take effect constitutes acceptance of those changes, subject to applicable law.

SECTION 1 - INFORMATIONAL PURPOSE ONLY

The information provided by erinfo.ca is intended for general informational and public-awareness purposes only.

erinfo.ca does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, triage or emergency services. The information provided on this website is not a substitute for advice from a physician, nurse, pharmacist or other qualified healthcare professional.

You must not use information from erinfo.ca as the sole basis for making decisions about your health or the health of another person. Always consult an appropriate healthcare professional regarding medical symptoms, treatment options or healthcare decisions.

SECTION 2 - MEDICAL EMERGENCIES

Do not use erinfo.ca to determine whether a medical situation is an emergency.

If you believe that you or another person may be experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or seek emergency assistance immediately.

Do not delay calling 911, travelling to an emergency department or obtaining medical care because of information displayed on erinfo.ca, including a reported wait time, occupancy level, capacity percentage, ranking or comparison.

For a non-urgent health concern in Quebec, you may contact Info-Santé by calling 811.

SECTION 3 - EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT SELECTION

Emergency department conditions can change quickly and without notice.

You should not select, avoid or travel to a particular emergency department solely because it appears to have a shorter estimated wait time, a lower occupancy or capacity percentage, fewer patients, a more favourable ranking or better historical performance.

The facility showing the shortest wait time may not be the closest or most appropriate facility for your condition. Some hospitals provide specialized services that may not be available at other facilities.

Ambulance services and healthcare professionals may determine that a different facility is more appropriate based on a patient’s condition, location, required treatment or other circumstances.

SECTION 4 - DATA SOURCES AND UPDATE DELAYS

Information displayed on erinfo.ca may originate from government bodies, healthcare institutions, public datasets, third-party services or calculations performed using those sources.

Although some information may be described as hourly, current, recent or live, erinfo.ca does not provide real-time hospital information.

There may be delays between conditions at a healthcare facility, the collection or publication of the source data, the receipt of that data by erinfo.ca and the display of the information on the website.

Published information may no longer represent current conditions, particularly when several patients arrive within a short period, when staffing or capacity changes, or when an unexpected incident occurs.

The date and time displayed with a data point generally indicate the time associated with the available source record. They do not guarantee that the information remains accurate at the time you view it.

SECTION 5 - ESTIMATES, CALCULATIONS AND TERMINOLOGY

Wait times, occupancy levels, capacity percentages, rankings, averages, trends, charts and comparisons displayed on erinfo.ca may be estimates or calculations based on available data.

These figures may be affected by missing or incomplete records, delayed publication, changes in reporting practices, differences between facilities, technical errors, corrections made by a data provider, rounding, aggregation or the methodology used by erinfo.ca.

Terms such as “wait time”, “capacity”, “occupancy”, “average”, “best”, “highest”, “lowest” or similar descriptions must be understood in the context of the specific dataset and methodology being presented. They are not guarantees of the time a particular patient will wait or the care that patient will receive.

Patients are assessed according to clinical urgency. A person arriving later may be treated sooner if their condition is considered more urgent.

SECTION 6 - HISTORICAL INFORMATION AND REPORTS

Articles, weekly reports, monthly reports, charts and historical datasets describe conditions during a past reporting period.

Historical content does not describe the present state of an emergency department, hospital or healthcare system.

Publication dates and reporting periods should be reviewed carefully before relying on any article, report, chart or comparison.

SECTION 7 - ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS AND AVAILABILITY

We make reasonable efforts to present useful and accurate information. However, we do not guarantee that information on erinfo.ca is accurate, complete, current, error-free, continuously available or appropriate for a particular purpose.

Information may be corrected, updated, removed or replaced without notice.

We may suspend, restrict, modify or discontinue any part of the website at any time. We are not obligated to maintain any particular feature, dataset, report, page or update schedule.

SECTION 8 - INDEPENDENT WEBSITE

erinfo.ca is an independently operated website.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, erinfo.ca is not operated, sponsored, endorsed or administered by the Government of Quebec, the Government of Canada, Santé Québec, a regional health authority, a hospital, an emergency department, an ambulance service or any other healthcare institution or public body.

The use of the name of a hospital, installation, municipality, health authority or government organization is for identification and informational purposes only.

SECTION 9 - ACCEPTABLE USE

You may use erinfo.ca for lawful personal and informational purposes.

You may not use the website for an unlawful or fraudulent purpose, interfere with its security or operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website or its systems, introduce malware or harmful code, or use the website in a manner that places an unreasonable load on its infrastructure.

You may not misrepresent data obtained from erinfo.ca, remove copyright, attribution or source notices, falsely imply an affiliation with erinfo.ca, or use automated systems to circumvent rate limits, access restrictions or other technical protections.

You may not systematically scrape, crawl, harvest, copy or download substantial portions of the website without prior written authorization.

Ordinary indexing by legitimate search engines is permitted, provided that it respects applicable technical instructions, including robots.txt directives.

SECTION 10 - INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Unless otherwise indicated, the design, layout, software, written content, branding, graphics and original presentation of information on erinfo.ca are owned by or licensed to David Ciamarro and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Government or third-party data displayed on the website remains subject to the rights, licences and conditions established by its original provider.

You may share links to publicly accessible pages on erinfo.ca and quote limited portions of original content for lawful purposes, provided that you accurately represent the content, identify erinfo.ca as the source, include a link to the relevant page when reasonably possible and do not imply an endorsement or affiliation.

These Terms of Use do not grant permission to reproduce, republish, sell, license or commercially exploit substantial portions of the website or its original content.

Requests concerning reuse may be sent to [email protected].

SECTION 11 - THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES AND SERVICES

erinfo.ca may link to government websites, healthcare institutions, maps, data providers and other third-party resources.

These links are provided for convenience and informational purposes. We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, accessibility, content or privacy practices.

A link does not necessarily mean that erinfo.ca endorses the third party or that the third party endorses erinfo.ca.

Your use of a third-party website is governed by that third party’s own terms and policies.

SECTION 12 - PERSONAL INFORMATION AND PRIVACY

The collection, use, retention and disclosure of personal information through erinfo.ca are governed by our Privacy Policy.

The website may use essential technologies, analytics services, advertising services or similar tools as described in the Privacy Policy and any applicable cookie or consent notice.

Please review our Privacy Policy together with these Terms of Use.

SECTION 13 - DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, erinfo.ca and all information, content, data, calculations, reports, tools and services made available through it are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We make no express or implied representation or warranty concerning the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of the information, the availability or uninterrupted operation of the website, the absence of errors, omissions or harmful components, or the suitability of the information for healthcare decisions.

We do not guarantee the actual time a patient will wait, the availability or quality of care at any facility, or any result arising from your use of the website.

Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes a legal warranty or other protection that cannot lawfully be excluded.

SECTION 14 - LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Subject to the limitations imposed by applicable law, David Ciamarro and erinfo.ca will not be liable for damages arising from your use of or inability to use the website, or from your reliance on information displayed on the website.

This includes damages arising from a decision to seek, delay, avoid or obtain medical care, a decision to travel to or avoid a particular healthcare facility, or inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, delayed, missing, corrected or unavailable information.

Subject to applicable law, we will not be liable for damages resulting from interruptions, technical failures, security incidents, third-party websites or services, or unauthorized access to or alteration of website data.

Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes or limits liability for bodily or moral injury, intentional or gross fault, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

SECTION 15 - INDEMNIFICATION

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless David Ciamarro and erinfo.ca from third-party claims, losses, liabilities and reasonable expenses arising from your unlawful use of the website, your violation of these Terms of Use, your infringement of another person’s rights, or content or data that you reproduce, publish or distribute in violation of these Terms of Use.

This section does not apply to the extent that a claim results from conduct for which liability cannot legally be excluded.

SECTION 16 - CHANGES TO THE WEBSITE OR TERMS

We may revise these Terms of Use from time to time.

The effective date displayed on the Terms of Use page indicates when the current version took effect. Updated Terms of Use will be posted on this page.

Your continued use of erinfo.ca after updated Terms of Use take effect constitutes acceptance of those Terms, subject to any requirements imposed by applicable law.

SECTION 17 - SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms of Use is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

SECTION 18 - NO WAIVER

A failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms of Use does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

SECTION 19 - ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Terms of Use, together with the Privacy Policy and any other policies expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the agreement between you and erinfo.ca concerning your use of the website.

These Terms of Use supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications or proposals concerning your use of the website.
